Totally given to God, in a spirit of humility, simplicity and charity for the service of those who are poor since 1633.

The Daughters of Charity have provided education to those who are poor since our beginnings. Marguerite Nasseau, the first Daughter of Charity, would gather young people around her to teach them to read. We believe that education is key in breaking the cycle of poverty and promoting systemic change.

Today, the Daughters of Charity co-sponsor ten schools in the Province of the West, including schools in California and Arizona. Daughters of Charity work in early childhood and adult education as well as formation in various settings. We believe that all are entitled to a Catholic education regardless of economic status.

Support our Education Ministry

Since 1663, the Daughters of Charity have had the privilege of investing our time and treasure ministering to the students and families of our schools.

As a result, many neighborhood children who may have otherwise not had the opportunity to attend Catholic elementary school are now realizing their full potential. They are enrolling in and graduating from high school and college—in many cases, they are first in their families to do so.

They are becoming respected and caring citizens as well as leaders who are making a difference in their neighborhoods, parishes and society.

With your added support, we can ensure facilities and programs continue to meet the highest standards of excellence and that neighborhood children and families benefit from a quality Vincentian education. Daughters of Charity Schools are a beacon of HOPE for the communities they serve.
